Refund and cancellation policy
Version 2026-10-24. Applies to SemiTrace by Metagnition and BESS Intelligence by Metagnition. It is part of the terms of use and subscription terms.
1. Try before you pay
Each product has a 7-day free trial. No payment card is needed and nothing is charged. The trial is how you evaluate a product before paying.
2. What you are charged
Each product is a separate subscription: USD 99 per seat per month, or USD 990 per seat per year. Prices include applicable taxes. You are charged at the start of each billing period, and the subscription renews automatically until you cancel.
Dodo Payments is our reseller and merchant of record. It takes the payment and sends your receipt.
3. Renewal reminder
For annual plans we email you 7 days before the renewal date, with the date and the amount.
4. How to cancel
You can cancel at any time:
- in the product, on its billing or account page where the product has one; or
- by emailing info@metagnition.com from the address on your account.
Cancel at least 48 hours before the renewal date to be sure the next charge is stopped. We confirm every cancellation by email.
Cancelling stops future renewals. Your access continues to the end of the billing period you have paid for, then ends. Cancelling one product does not affect a subscription to the other.
5. Refunds
Once a billing period has started, we do not refund it, in full or in part.
- Monthly plans: the month you have paid for is not refunded.
- Annual plans: if you cancel part-way through the year, your access runs to the end of the paid year. Unused months are not refunded.
We do refund:
- billing errors, such as a duplicate charge, a charge of the wrong amount, or a charge after you cancelled in time: in full;
- where the law requires a refund.
If you buy as a consumer, this policy does not take away any right you have under the consumer law of the country where you live. For example, consumers in the UK and EU may have a right to cancel within 14 days of first subscribing; if you asked for the service to start straight away, an amount for the days already provided can be deducted.
6. How to ask for a refund
Email info@metagnition.com from the address on your account, with the product, the payment date and the reason. We reply by email.
Approved refunds are paid by Dodo Payments to the payment method you used. Dodo Payments says refunds usually take 5 to 10 business days to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer.
Please contact us before disputing a payment with your bank. We can usually correct a billing error faster.
7. Changes
We give at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price change applies to your subscription. A change to this policy applies to payments made after the new version is published.
